Caught Beneath the Landslide

21–22 October Hoxton Hall

Songs from the Britpop Era, reimagined

Back in 1997, a new prime minister and a royal funeral punctuated the "death" of a musical movement that promised to live forever. 25 years later, the Coveryard descended on Hoxton Hall to mark the anniversary, looking back in ambivalence at the legacy of Britpop's golden years, now that we’re all fully grown.

Alongside genre-swapped hits from the so-called “big four” of Blur, Oasis, Pulp and Suede, we roamed further afield to exhume, mash together and reanimate personal favourites from the likes of the Verve and Underworld, the Lighthouse Family and Saint Etienne, along with a good helping of Radiohead and the Spice Girls.

As our first gig at London’s beautiful Hoxton Hall — originally a music hall back in the 19th Century — Caught Beneath The Landslide featured more instruments, MORE genres, MORE lead vocalists and MORE surprises than ever, BRinging an appropriate THEATRICALITY TO our EXCAVATION OF A RELATIVELY RECENT CULTURAL MOMENT THAT still FEELS HALF THE WORLD AWAY.

The Coveryard performed at Hoxton Hall, on 21st & 22nd October 2022
